                                  Board of Directors Meeting

                                           July 10, 2004

 

The Board Meeting was held at the home of Bob Bowe, 23010 Fresca St.  Doug Eibsen called the meeting to order at 9:37.  A quorum was established.

Raul Molina expressed concern about the grade elevation of the new homes being constructed around him and the drainage of these properties onto his.  He also was concerned about the spraying of the septic system wastewater onto his property.  He would like help with these issues.  There was much discussion as to how this could be addressed.

Elizabeth Atchley and Jeanne King requested information on the beach walkover that has not been completed next to lots 1 & 2.  Bob Bowe explained the process of obtaining surveys, permits, etc.  He explained that the GLO had written Galveston a letter denying the permit due to lack of vegetation in the area.  Bob Bowe said he would stake the area again and resubmit new pictures and apply for a new permit to see if it would be approved now.

Minutes:

The minutes from the May 8, 2004 meeting were distributed to board members present.  Wanda Greer made a motion to approve the minutes.  Diane O’Neall seconded the motion and the minutes were approved.

 

Treasurer’s Report:

Bob Fos gave the treasurer’s report.  There is currently $17,325 in the checking account and as of March 31 there was 94,988.98 in the savings account.  Bob Fos will ask the new treasurer to get a quote for insurance for the pavilion.

 

Committees:

New committees were formed for board members and residents to volunteer to work on.

ACC:   Larry Erdman, Bernd Linden, Doug Eibsen

Harbor:  Bob Majewski, Stan Krupa

Sewage Treatment Plant: Cindy Rice

 

Pavilion:

Board members discussed numerous ideas to improve the pavilion/ recreation area.  Some of these ideas were restrooms, sidewalks, picnic tables and barbeque pits.

 

Pool:

The pool equipment and building will need to be replaced at some point in the future.  Diane O’Neall checked on vinyl fencing for the pool area.  The cost would be $15.00 foot not installed.  It was brought to the board’s attention that the pool needs a rail on the steps for safety reasons.  Bob Bowe made a motion to allow $600 for this.  Bonnie English seconded the motion and the motion passed.  Kim Saxon reported that Kenny Klyng had replaced the lights on the mailbox house that shine on the flag.

 

Harbor:

Additional lighting and dock cleats will soon  be added to the fishing area.  It was discussed whether it would be a good idea to ad solar lights at the end of the channel.

 

Flags:

Diane O’Neall will check on prices to have Terramar Beach flags made for residents to purchase.

 

City Issues:

Wanda Greer agreed to be the liason between Terramar residents/board members and the city.

 

Kim Saxon made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 11:45.  Wanda Greer seconded the motion and the meeting was adjourned.
