March 9, 2002

Meeting was held at 22914 Lunes. Bill called the meeting to order at 10:05 a.m. A quorum was established.

Treasurer's Report:
Pete reported the Association has $94,209 in the checking account and $56,399 in savings.

Minutes:
One correction to the previous meeting minutes was made. Doug Eibsen is submitting the paperwork for a Management Certificate. Pete made a motion to approve minutes with corrections, seconded by Wanda. Motion carried.

Nominating Committee:
Barbara Bowe, Patty Erdman and Lloyd Pepper were appointed to the committee. They will submit a slate of officers to serve on the 2002 -2003 Board of Directors.

Annual Meeting:
Notice for the annual meeting must be mailed no later than May 8, 2002. Board members agreed to accept the following tasks  for the meeting.

Lloyd Pepper                 Security
Patty & Larry Erdman     T-Shirts

Property owners will be asked to bring a covered dish to the meeting. Bill made a motion authorizing $1,000 to provide meat. Seconded by Pete, motion carried.

Eleanor is responsible for paper products, including plastic flatware. Evelyn will ask Ron to mow area and treat for ants and mosquitoes.

Other Business:
Bob made a motion to authorize $5,000 to build a concrete ramp to the swimming pool. Bill seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Pete made a motion to solicit bids to construct walkway in Section 7. Evelyn seconded, motion carried.

Bill made a motion authorizing Stan to obtain bids for bank sand to be placed around pool and along the new road prior to planting Mexican Fan Palms. Motion seconded by Wanda. Motion carried. Stan will contact Board members when he has a confined cost.

Evelyn will ask Ron to purchase grass seed to spread on area where the levee was built.

Pete reported he was unable to find a shrimper interested in coming into the development to sell shrimp.

Wanda will research possible grant to re-circulate canal water preventing future fish kills.

West Galveston Island Property Owners Association (WGIPOA):
Wanda reported the Association has requested an increase in police patrols for the West End. A new slate of officers for WGIPOA was presented at the meeting.

New Business:
Pete and Wanda will research making vehicle identification stickers for property owners.
