Beachfront Construction/Dune
Protection Permit Application
Revised information as of April 15,
2009
Please be advised, the General Land Office Emergency Rules expired April 5th, 2009, and many of the variances from the Beach/Dune Rules for stabilization of structures and dune restoration projects are now incorporated in the Disaster Recovery Orders.
All applications for work covered
under the Disaster Recovery Order require a standard beachfront
construction/dune protection permit application that will be assembled by
planning staff and then submitted to the GLO staff in
In addition to the time required to process applications under the Recovery Orders, currently reduced Staffing levels will also affect the processing time, which is estimated to be 4-6 weeks from submittal. Please note, projects may also require a building permit in addition to the beachfront construction certificate.
The City continues to work with the GLO Staff to identify and implement modifications for the most efficient process. The application and required checklist are currently being modified to ensure all required information is requested at time of submittal, and will soon be available on the City’s website as well as from the local office. Incomplete applications will not be accepted, and any applications found to be missing information will be further delayed.
